KEY ART OF SPECIAL INTEREST PER CAPCOM
REVEAL
Personally, I do like the direction RE8 is taking. I do like the return of the first-person perspective.
It is interesting to see Ethan & Mia back from RE7. No to mention Chris (again) Redfield. Don't get me wrong, I think Chris is a good character, it's just that personally, I have Chris-fatigue when it comes to Resident Evil titles.
However, he appears to be channeling his inner-Wesker, I don't know, maybe it's just me
One huge point of interest for me is that the game appears to have a Licans vs Werewolves vibe going on. Especially the shot in the trailer which shows someone (apparently) drinking blood from Ethan's wrist.
I am also happy with the end of the trailer since that is a bold direction to take Chris's character in.
Plus, how much is really being revealed in the Key Art featuring the winged-mummified-fetus. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm...
Could that be a connection to the Molded from RE7, with a hint of Las Plagas from RE4 (especially since Capcom stated that Las Plagas have now heavily influenced the Nemesis parasite)?
Here we go, baby!

Capcom has released the second trailer along with some key screenshots.
The points of interest here are the people "praying" around the table, and what appears to be a merchant-like character.
Capcom also has web broadcasts scheduled for September 25th - 27th from Tokyo Gameshow, perhaps some game-play might be shown.
Here's hoping

Here is a video from the Residence of Evil (ROE), explaining the European folk tales which could have served as inspiration for the story of Resident Evil 8.
They also dive into the similairities of the cult in Resident Evil 8 and Los Iluminados from Resident Evil 4.
Not to mention, the possible connection with Resident Evil 7.

Capcom's Tokyo Game Show presentation was honestly underwhelming, the "biggest" news from the presentation was Capcom stating they were "looking-into" bringing Resident Evil 8 to the current generation of consoles ( PlayStation 4, Xbox One ).

Resident Evil Village will launch on May 7th 2021.
Capcom has also confirmed that Village will be coming to current and past gen consoles. The MAIDEN demo will be exclusive to PlayStation 5 for now, starting today January 21st 2021. The second demo which will be available on all platforms will be sometime in the Spring.
Here are a few bulletpoints:
- As noted, Village will maintain the first person perspective
- “Mother Miranda” appears to be a key figure in the story
- A new merchant is available, this time called “The Duke”
Capcom will also be celebrating the 25th anniversary of the series in multiple games such as:
- RE:VERSE will be a four player versus (cell-shaded) multiplayer free for all owners of Village
- Resident Evil items will be available in Ubisoft’s THE DIVISION 2

IGN has released a video showcasing Resident Evil Village running on a PS4 Pro.
There is a hit in quality, which is most visible in the dungeon scene (the blood flooding the floor). The game seems a bit more "brighter" with what also appears to be a lack of depth of field (maybe it's just me).
Lady D's facial expressions also seem a bit more stiff. As if the animation was missing frames (again, probably just me).
Hopefully the game will run (flawlessly) on a standard PS4 and PS4 Pro, here's hoping this doesn't turn into a Cyberpunk 2077 situation.
