GameInformer has uploaded a video showcasing Village's upgrade system.

We get to see a bit more of what The Duke (merchant) has to offer. You can also hunt wild life for meat which can be used in the Duke's Kitchen, these will boost Ethan's stats (temporarily?).

I do like the sleep UI on the carrying case itself. It does look a little high-tech. But sexy as well.

Capcom hosted their most recent showcase and shared a few new tidbits on Resident Evil Village.

They also discussed upcoming dates for their next demo. You can actually pre-install the demo for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 already.

RESIDENT EVIL VILLAGE - NEW TRAILER

RESIDENT EVIL FULL SHOWCASE - 04.15.2021

CHARACTERS

Capcom gave us a better view of Heisenberg & finally named Chris' squad.

THE MERCENARIES

The Mercenaries will be returning to Resident Evil. Here's hoping that characters from the campaign will be playable in this mode, it would be interesting seeing Heisenberg tear it up with his giant hammer.

Mercenaries will be section based, where you can purchase items, weapons, and upgrades from The Duke.

THE VILLAGE

There were also some new production shots available on the Resident Evil site. I have uploaded them here and in the Resident Evil Village gallery for archival purposes.

THE CASTLE

Capcom also featured a new trailer for Resident Evil Infinite Darkness. You can follow our conversation on Infinite Darkness here.

Anyone play the PlayStation demo for the village section yet?

Pretty good stuff, I got to play it on a PlayStation 4 Pro. Although one thing that did seem strange to me were the facial animations on the characters, especially Elena. Oh well, it's probably just me. Overall I'm loving the world that Village is set in. The aiming on PlayStation did seem a bit "floaty", especially after playing Resident Evil 7 with an Xbox One controller.

I have added the screenshots from my play-through to the Resident Evil Village gallery.

I don't want to spoil much for anyone who hasn't played it, so I'll just post some title screenshots here, the gallery has everything I was able to grab from start to finish.

IGN has uploaded a video describing their first hours with Resident Evil Village.

No major spoilers here, just a look at a few different rooms in the castle.

It seems that, at least where they describe starting off, this version was a "longer demo" for the press.

Enjoy.

So as the game is nearing release, I have taken images of the recently released PC demo.

I could be wrong, but it appears that you only have 1 hour to spent in EITHER the village or castle. If so, this means I'm fucked. Because I played about 40+ minutes in the village trying to see if I missed anything in the PS4 demo.

You can browse the full PC demo gallery here.

Here are some shots. These images were taken on a 1920 * 1080 monitor with max settings on.

PC DEMO SCREENSHOTS

There is a HUGE difference in sharpness and facial animation compared to the PlayStation 4 version. At first it does not seem like much, but once you see it, you can't unsee it.

Here is one quick example (although take into consideration the limitations of the PS4 screenshot mode):

Capcom has released a Launch Trailer for Village.

As we are hours away from the game being released, I can't wait to jump into the game.

Just waiting on Steam to activate the pre-install.

Village is here baby!

Although I have to admit that May 6th actually sucked. It was shitty logging into YouTube and people already streaming Village while others were posting spoiler-filled reviews (those thumbnails). Not to mention, it also sucked that all platforms minus PC got a pre-install period (which meant that my play time on launch day was robbed of 1hr 12minues which is how long it took for me to download Village).

First world problems, huh?

Any way, here are my notes from my first night with Village. Spoiler free of course.

So I am basically past the section of the first Village demo (not the Maiden demo), and it looks like I am about to start the section from the Castle demo.

Feel free to check my progress is you like:

Jumped into some Village last night.

I think I've probably played twice since the game came out. I have posted some images (spoilers) below. Let's just say that "I have transitioned out of the first major area after the castle demo".

I decided to head towards The Beneviento House.

I was not disappointed, talk about shaking things up.

This is a must-play with headphones and the lights off.

Shit!

I think I'm going to save Heisenberg for last.
